The Strands of Youth

My current work in progress. My main goal with this picture is to work more on drawing hair (which there certainly isn't a shortage of in this!). I'm also trying out a new technique on the skin tone of the girls face. Normally I use a tortillion, or a Q-tip, to blend the pencil strokes to create smooth skin. For this picture, however, I'm trying the technique of rubbing a simple tissue over the pencil to create an even more smooth appearance! So far it's working a lot better (I'm excited!)
